The following is a poem I wrote as a result of the horrible tragedy in Moncton. If you like it please feel free to share it. As a civilian member of the Saint John Police Force I need to do something:

“I pray for those in Moncton as tears streak down my cheek.
I cannot understand how hatred seeps so deep.
There will never be any sense to hurt those who are true blue.
They choose their path to serve us, protect us, stand for us,
in a very confusing world.
They know there are chances they will have to take, but with their
knowledge and expertise they trust they will come home.
To take a guardian angel truly feels unreal….
My heart it aches with sadness and fear is trickling in, as I slowly
start to question this world we’re living in.
You WILL NOT be forgotten, your death we will honourably avenge.
A Country stands before you and together we will mourn you…
You are now our angels in blue, you are in our hearts,
you are in our thoughts, our prayers and perseverance.
We regrettably go on without you…..we wish you rest in peace….
We look up and salute you with assurance that we will take it
from here.
Moncton I bow my head to you..”.

Dedicated to our fallen RCMP officers and my co-workers that are in Moncton and all affected by this unspeakable tragedy. Please come home safe and sound to your families and co-workers….we are with you.
