I found a hockey jersey the other day that I bid on and won at a charity event for Camp Maple Leaf probably some 8 years ago or so, at the Ex in Toronto. The jersey is signed on the front and also has an inscription on the back. I remember this event as I also brought 2 Silver Cross mothers to the event as well. I am sure this jersey if I remember correctly General Hillier wore in a game up pick up hockey with the troops, if anyone has a memory or pictures of that event please let us know, share your story or correct us on the event. The date on the jersey on the back reads March 2008.
Happy Canada Day to all Canadians far and wide, as you celebrate today lets not forget our service members that are around the world today keeping us safe.
A HUGE Thank-you to Brent currently in France for stopping by my grandfathers grave today in Bretteville-Sur-Laize and for stopping at the Vimy Memorial to take a picture of my Cousins name on the memorial. This is the most important thing that has ever been done for me, words can’t express how I am feeling…I feel like saying thanks is not enough. – Chris Ecklund, Founder.
