Good Morning Canada, what a great day for a memorial race!!!!! (It’s Ray from Canadian Heroes Racing). Today we honour Sgt. Shawn Eades, son of Bev McCraw and hero to our country. In our pre race meeting with the 45 Crew, Kevin Trevellin, Ian Holden, Brad Prevett and Charles Grieves, we will follow these principles at each and every race the 45 LOSC Memorial Car participates in:
1. We are a memorial car in a memorial race. We are not a competitive car in a competitive race. Our trophy pursuit is the one on our hood that we present to the family. We leave the competition to others and wish them all the best in their pursuit. It doesn’t matter to us where we finish.
2. We will follow all the rules of racing and conduct ourselves with professionalism, courtesy and respect to all we meet and race with. Our goal is to represent this organization and the fallen hero with respect. Any less is disrespecting the sacrifice the hero made.
3. Our purpose is to ensure the memory of the fallen soldier is shown on a track representing them. We fully understand our actions on an off the track reflect on the memory of that hero’s memory and their family. We will do no less.
Canadian Heroes Racing wishes all Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup participants good luck today! Come out today Canada, wear red, support a hero and meet a great family!!!!
