We are currently starting the planning stages of our next memorial vehicle, this will be known as CH#14, and is in memory of Craftsman Kyle Sinclair.
As we have done before we will do a video blog of it as we progress through the stages of planning and make sure we keep everyone updated as we go along.
The following is from a letter we received from his mother.
Kyle Sinclair joined the Canadian Armed Forces, as a Vehicle Technician, RCEME in 2012.
“My son Craftsman Kyle Sinclair lost his life in a tragic accident on November 21st 2014 . He was in training in Petawawa, ON, on a training exercise repairing a seat belt that was cut. When the seat in the Coyote ejected and he was pinned.
Kyle was 27 years old. He was born in Oshawa, and lived in Whitby, and Port Hope.
Kyle enjoyed building things with wood, painting, drawing. Enjoyed a good game of bowling, and spending time with family and friends. A good drink of Jim Bean!
Kyle had your back. You didn’t have to ask, he would just be there for you. Kyle made the choice to join the army at the age of 25. He had been running his own contracting business since the age of 18 through 25 as he loved to renovate. Although he enjoyed this work it was not fulfilling all of his needs. He was looking for added security down the road as he knew he would not have a pension to count on from this line of work. This is when he made the decision to join the army as he wanted to further his education, help people, travel and defend our country as he is going to be a ‘lifer’. He’s going to earn his way up the ranks. He knew he had to work with his hands as this was a must, so he chose to become a Vehicle Technician. RCEME Although he knew nothing about this trade he did know he was up to the challenge . This would meet his requirements of working with his hands and get his brain working, and it did. He was so proud when he signed his papers in 2012. I also was very proud of Kyle’s decision, and dedication, as he was so passionate about the Army. He was very humble when people would thank him as he had felt he had not done anything yet, but he was going to be ready when called upon . In his short time in the Army he was in Borden, ON, then Petawawa, ON and also got deployed to Fort Drum New York,USA, where he was anxious to get his hands dirty . Kyle belong to two Units, 2 Service Battalion and Royal Canadian Dragoons. He met some great people who quickly became friends, through his journey.
Kyle is a son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, step brother, God father, cousin, friend and Comrade
Missed and loved by all.”
