Today I went to the Field of Honor in Calgary to give my father a Korean Veteran his poppy as I do every year, It is something that I have done since his passing 9 years ago. It is a tradition I hope my sons will carry on after I’m gone and one I hope others do as well for their loved ones, leading up to Remembrance Day. Not far from my fathers final resting spot, I stopped to pay my respects to Corporal Michael Starker, of 15 Field Ambulance who gave his life for freedom in Afghanistan on 2008.
