Canadian Heroes Race Car 24 At Flamboro Speedway, August 4th 2012

The highlight of the night was Kyle’s inaugural race. Kyle kept us on the edge of our seats and he did an amazing job. He finished 2nd for his debut race! Congrats…
Here is Kyle’s version of his first race supporting our troops in the #24 pro stock car…

Nights of Thunder

It was a dismal and gloomy day in the Flamboro Speedway region on the 4th of August. The sounds of race cars near and far could be heard as teams prepared their cars for the nights festivities. One team stood alone in their first race as the thunderous clouds rolled towards the track.

As the cars took to the track for the nights first heat race, the Canadian Heroes 24 car started in 7th place. After a ballsy 3 wide pass, they made their way up to 4th place to start in the Feature race. BOOM!!! The thunderstorm arrived with a vengance for all things fun and poured inches of rain upon the track for what seemed like an eternity! The sun coming back out was nothing shy of a miracle and a ground rumbling cheer came from the crowd as racing was able to continue after the track dried up.

The cars rolled out for the feature race with the 24 car in 4th place. The green flag dropped and they all hit their accelerators into the first turn! Cars were banging and rubbing each other in violent ways for many laps until BAM! There was an accident that took out 2 cars right in front of the Canadian Heroes car! But the 24 driver was to BRAVE to slow down and give up and drove through the accident with grace and precision! The caution flag cleared up and the 24 found itself in 3rd place with 10 laps to go.

A clean pass resulted in the 24 car getting into 2nd place with only 3 laps left! Unfortunately, the Canadian Heroes car could not get to the top spot before the race came to a conclusion and they finished a respectable 2nd place in their debut race at Flamboro Speedway. The car pulled into the pit area with a cheer from the team and smiles from the fans. Everyone went back to the race shop where they celebrated with hot dogs, burgers, and iced cream cake. After some time everyone dispersed and they all lived happily ever after.
