A 21-year-old Canadian soldier from western Newfoundland died Monday morning at a German hospital, more than a week after he was injured by a roadside bomb in an attack in Afghanistan.

Cpl. Brian Pinksen, originally from Corner Brook, suffered injuries to his limbs and internal organs Aug. 22 after the vehicle he was in was hit by an improvised explosive device.

He was flown to a military hospital in Germany for treatment, but Pinksen died after his heart failed.

A Canadian Forces official said more details will be released as they become available.

In total, 152 Canadian soldiers and diplomats who have died as part of the Afghan mission since it began in 2002.

This is a 2010 Mercedes-Benz 350 GLK, getting measured in preparation to be wrapped. Its boring I admit, but again its a behind the scenes look at how a car actually gets wrapped. There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of hours that go into wrapping a car. The behind the scenes work that everyone does is incredible.

This is today at Trimline, I took it in for the guys to look at, measure it up, and start to look at the design elements involved. Its a first I have done, I thought I would give you a little bit more detail on the work involved before we wrap it.

CANADIAN HEROES SINGLE RELEASE
A SONG FOR OUR ARMED FORCES THAT ROCKS!

On November 11.2009, Canadian Heroes the single will be launched. Over 80% of Canadian troops are under the age of 40, but do they have a rock song let alone a song to commemorate the veterans, the deployed, the training and the fallen? This cd changes that.

Eight Juno Award winning Canadian musicians including Brian Melo, Tom Wilson, Jeff Madden, Skip Prokop, Dan Clancy, Ian Thomas and so many more have put together a song for our Armed Forces that rocks, with all funds going to a charity that will help our Canadian soldiers.

We took the Canadian Heroes Car outside in the sunlight and shot a video, the airgun noise in the background reminds me of the pits at Indy over the weekend!!!

This was this afternoon as I arrived at Trimline to see the first ever Canadian Heroes Car.

This was today at Trimline, as the boys where wrapping Canadian Heroes Car #1. It looks absolutely amazing, the day took on a sombre tone as I learned on my way to the shop that we lost Sapper Brian Collier. When the car is done I will make sure we take her to Toronto for his repatriation.

Sapper Brian Collier, 24, was killed in an IED attack near Kandahar.

“The bravery and remarkable commitment of Canadians like Sapper Collier are bringing safety and stability to the people of Afghanistan,” Prime Minister Stephen Harper said

He had recently been wounded in a mine blast, and was the 151st Canadian to die in Afghanistan since 2002.

Collier, a combat engineer from Bradford, Ontario, was killed while on a foot patrol about 15km southwest of the Taliban stronghold of Kandahar, 

, the Canadian department of national defence said in a statement.

“Sapper Brian Collier was a remarkable Canadian and a dedicated soldier,” defence minister Peter MacKay said in a statement. “He made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and has earned the recognition and the respect of us all.”

Collier had recently been wounded in another IED attack, but “fought hard to overcome his injury in order to get back to doing his job with his comrades”, Brig Gen Jonathan Vance, commander of Task Force Kandahar told reporters.
